The IRR argues in its submission to the Minister of Human Settlements that not only is the Draft Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Amendment Bill of 2026 so at odds with the Constitution – and with what the economy requires – that it should be scrapped, but that the PIE Act itself, being unconstitutional for the same reasons, should be repealed.
