On Tuesday 12 November, the IRR will be hosting an online briefing to publish its latest opinion polling on the state of South Africa. The webinar and presentation will explore four pivotal realities shaping South Africa's future.

The presentation by IRR head of strategic communications, Hermann Pretorius, will unpack data indicating:

  • how an increasing number of South Africans believe that their lives will improve over the next five years, reflecting a renewed sense of cautious optimism;
  • the political goodwill surrounding the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the potential for a robust Progressive Caucus to challenge and motivate effective governance;
  • the sound state of race relations among South Africans; and
  • areas of consensus on key policy outcomes and socio-economic aspirations, which point to new common ground for a programme of government in the national interest.

The details of the briefing are as follows:

Date: Tuesday 12 November 2024
